The guys writing it did *not* know the real explanation and it was not for lack of language merely lack of investigation and knowledge. > > Still, nice to know you appreciate the origin of the species. > > Yeah, and it's also nice to know that if the human race does fall, it is > possible for it form from creatures that resemble apes. I doubt the human race would ever "reform" through future evolution. We are currently facing a threat from Natural Selection ourselves through increasingly deadly and incurable illness. That is if we don't just all kill ourselves in the meantime. > > We may be the "height" of the evolutionary chain, and although we never > > came from the mythical Adam and Eve, we as in all mankind and every > > living thing started of as slime a few billion years ago. The fact that we can build complicated high tech things > like video games and web pages and all this other crap. Can you imagine two Ants build. Birds build. Apes and even some birds utilised tools that they make themselves. What makes us better? Other than an immense appetite for destruction, what have we as a race achieved? What is the difference between a couple of Apes fighting with the stronger becoming leader and Politics. If you think we are so different from animals just take a closer look at man. Our DNA structure contains DNA patterns for most mammals on the planet and even has strands from the pre-mammal era. We are just a different species, we are not just different! Still not convinced. Then look at people. Watch them, learn from them and then watch animals. Look out for the *very* similar behavioral patterns. Ants have their very own dairy farms in the form of green fly which they milk regularly but do not kill. They will even go so far as to protect their "farms". As do we. Many animals can create and use tools. As can we. Animals realised the truth of the saying "strength in numbers" when under threat from predators. As do humans. Animals can be both mesmerised and fearful of fire. As can we. Look at the mating "rituals" of many animals. No they do not have night clubs, but there is a process that animals go through to attract a mate and get laid. We could be here forever but I think you'll get the idea. :) > monkeys trying to have this same discussion in three different countries like > we are now? No but nor can I imagine themselves going to war or trying to take over another country or fighting over whose religion is the right one ... the list could also go on for ever. :) > OK, the Bible is mistranslated a lot. But Leviticus 20:13 is clear: > > "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of > them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; > their blood shall be upon them." Hang on, didn't you read my comment ... "we long ago realised that the bible is *not* law." I am really trying to stay away from this so I'll ask once again. Do you *really* want to go there? > They deserve the death penalty, it is very clear. Now there is a need for > separation of church and state, however homosexuality isn't just a crime > against God, it's a crime against nature. Where we go from here largely depends on how you think your "faith" could stand up to scrutiny. It has been very difficult to stay clear of it in this message but if you answer "Yes" to my earlier question then we can discuss it. If your answer is "No" please keep to your own opinions and feelings and not those of long dead "fiction" writers. :) I so want you to say Yes :) -- Mark
