Wow, I'm depressed.
Here in Columbus, Mortal Kombat died a long time ago. Used to
be I could go to any arcade anywhere and find a huge crowd of players
on the MK machine.
Then, about last February, they all started to dissapear.
Don't ask me where they went, I don't know... folks just lost interest.
Now days I have to drive all over the place to find any games
at all.
The computer has taught me more than anyone by now, since I end
up playing it most of the time.
I'm sure that caused me to lose a bit of my edge. But there
isn't a lot I can do about it.
I still do run around all over town though, because occasionally
you run accross another Master, just as pleased as I am to find
someone who is good enough to be a challenge.
I am praying that when MK hits the home machines, the schlew of
little kids will cause a rise in MK around here. Otherwise, I wonder
if even I will be playing in a couple of months.
I totally agree with the poster who said he seeks to learn
a little something from every new person he plays. I have found this to
be one of the things that gives the winning edge. In the end, once you've
got the basic skills, it comes down to instinct. The one with the better
instincts will win. That's why it is so beneficial to play a wide
variety of people. That way you learn to adapt. When you play only the
same people all the time, you tend to cease doing so.
Well, anyway, it's late and I gotta go. If any of you Mkers
are ever in Columbus, send me some email. I'd love to have a game or two.
-Michael
