[TTD] Next round of TTDPatch: 1.5 now available

Hi TTD players,

This is to announce the next version of my patch for TTD, available at
http://publish.uwo.ca/~jdrexler/ttdpatch/ (my page) and
http://www.dgdr.com/~eijden/ttdpages/downloadarea.html (Paul van Eiden's TTD
Pages)

New features are:
* Persistent engines - no engine (any vehicle type) that is currently in use
will become obsolete. This helps to keep heliports useful after 2050.
* Turn off inflation - makes everything stay at the current price, no matter
what the interest rate is. Interest has more of an impact then, too.
* Office Towers accept food - if you've always wondered where these office
  people get their lunch from
* Longer stations. Works just like adding more platforms, up to a length of
7 squares (I'm working on allowing even more)
* Borrow/repay maximum loan while holding down the Ctrl key - ever bought a
competitor and had to repay their loan? Now it's just one mouse click.
* Full load now means any cargo, not the whole train. Planes leave when
either passengers or mail are full, not both.
* Selectable station goods. Goods won't appear at a station until that
service has been inaugurated. This way you can choose what kind of goods
you want to appear. No more passengers at a coal station just because
some hermit built his house there.
* Selectable default service interval. Now it's no longer fixed at 16000
days, you can set it to 90 days for example.
* Cht: DumpMemory saves the game data uncompressed to TTDMEM.DMP, for when
you are curious about the internals of the game. No load possible though.

And as always, any of these can be switched on or off - it's your choice!

Check it out, and then
Have fun!

Josef

Nice.

Very nice. Nothing's worse than seeing a plane with 300
passengers sit months waiting for 10 more pieces of mail.

That should help keep reputation up.

Very good! This was a cause of major extra clicking.

Has anyone else noticed that when running the patch, the road vehicles on
the title screen get hit by the train??

There is a mono-rail track on the right, and the 3rd road vehicle that
trundles across it (a little truck) the monorail train speeds round the
corner and ploughs straight into it. After that, it hits a bus and kills
more people.

Am I the only person that gets so bored he watches the title screen???!!

That happens if you enable the new non-stop handling. There's a station at
each side of the crossing where the monorail would stop without the patch,
but keep running with it, and hit all the busses.

Apparently not...
(I even managed to load the title screen as a savegame, but it's not very
interesting...)

How? Why? Do the trains just go round a loop?

All we need now is a way to delete a whole train, rather than carriage by
carriage....

...PLEASE!!

(apart from blowing the poor critter up...)

Copy title.dat to a trt??.sv1 savegame. Then change the last four bytes
(the checksum) from "40 A4 B1 D1" (hex) to "58 C7 B7 D1" (hex). Now just
load it.

> Why?

Curiosity...

> Do the trains just go round a loop?

No, not even a loop. It's just a single line of track with a depot at one
end. There's not even a bus/truck station.
