It's "call runindex(initialize)", which is why on the mailing list I
replied that somehow the memory manager must be getting confused.  This
memory location was written to before, so it exists (or the crash would
be elsewhere), but somehow it's not exectuable.

That either means it's writable but not readable (unlike), or the CS/DS
aliasing doesn't work.  Either way, I have no idea how to debug that, or
why it started breaking suddenly after working for years.
