My internet connection died and I *just* had a chance to fix it this morning, so all is well in AGLAMIland once again. [1]

I closed beta tested it just fine, and now the open beta is released - which I have been waiting months for!! So anyway, I dl the open beta, click on it...nothing happens (this is a torrent btw - but complete)....THEN my comp goes all weird, a section of my HD needs to be recovered and I have to reinstall a couple of drivers to get back on the internet. THEN, today, I tried dling the NON torrent version which was just made available, and when I click on THAT, I get the pop up asking me to save or run. I click save and the box freezes and no download. I am so mad I could scream right now.

It's most likely a driver clash. It couldn't be so that you got the wrong version, for a different OS version, video card or something silly like that? I don't know if the thing uses Java or it needs a specific flash version, direct X version or other software. It may not even be a bug, but a feature. Or caused by an added feature. Now an open beta couldn't have DRM, now? -- Danny.

Nope, no other versions to get confused - just the two versions, torrent and non torrent. Now, after having done the reinstallation of the drivers (already updated, and were already installed on my comp before it went crazy), I clicked on the torrent version, just to see what happens and VIOLA, it works fine. I'm still scratching my head on this one. *shrug shrug* But yes, Hello Kitty is EEEEEEEEvil!! It's an addiction no one can explain. BTW, this open beta version is WAY bigger than I thought it was gonna be....I get totally lost, but then, I just started. If I didn't have a general idea of where everything was from closed beta, I'd be in real trouble - now they have added Tokyo, London, Paris, etc and several new characters. I think everyone from AGLAMI should play. It should make for some interesting HKO blogs, in the very least. *pictures screen shots of reinder taking over Floropolis as the Omnipotent Dictator*

I just brought out my gamepad, but still have to decide which game to play. FF4? Tales of Phantasia? Or perhaps Star Ocean? Some are turn based/tactical, which can be fun - especially when you want to dominate! I don't hate sim games. I actually have a whole set of Sim games, and quite enjoy some of the building and tycoon ones (SimSafari - which I still play, and Zoo Tycoon - which I love playing) but I never got into "the Sims". RPGs are more strategical than you think, and they require some brains to figure out complex puzzles, at times. Give the list a try, at least!

Just like most people find turn based strategy boring, I find RPG's tedious. I'd rather play a "real" adventure game. Maybe it's because of the odd balance between the normal game play, trading and strategy. I also don't like the huge investment of time in a virtual character. So, no, not gonna give them a try. -- Danny.

Yes, there's an SD card you can buy and dl roms on it, but I would not want to play an RPG that keeps me glued to it for days or weeks on a teeny DS. I'm waiting for them to make the DS compatable with Wii to play DS on the TV. The PSP, I don't know if you can, even though I have one of those also. Now, an old school PS console, you could also make discs with games and play them on it, but it required some sort of modification - I can't remember how it was done.

Nope. That's icky. And look at that picture! I'll just wait til Nintendo decides to do it themselves. Of course, the whole GameCube/GB thing was a fiasco - too many cables, adapters, etc. for hooking one to the other. Sure, after typing in you 64 character key on both machines. I'm pretty sure that PSP can be hooked up to a TV.
