They should license it out ala Duke Nukem Manhattan Project, but ALSO keep working on their own stuff. 3D Master

I check this group from time to time and I am still amazed that people actually believe Duke Nukem Forever is going to be released. Does anyone realize the supposed development of this vaporware has been going on for almost 10 years now? If anyone has followed 3DRealms over the years you would then realize they are very good at one thing........HYPE. I other words taking nothing and trying to make it sound like something, such as thier old crappy games. So why are they blowing their money on physics engines if they don't have anything to use it in?

Marketing hype to market.. what, if it'll never be released? I've been told the media blackout will end this year, and I'm not saying it will, it would just be nice if it did. Hmm, very intriguing: http://www.mce.ee/index.php?page=prodetail&lang=&prod_id=556 It's in Russian, but "Duke Nukem Forever" and 30th March 2005 are quite obvious for everyone. 3D Realms is mentioned too, but 3D site is silent. Is it a joke, piracy or...? Anyone heard something about it? Usually, a site makes an expectation about when a game is going to be released. Usually, this is based on a old statement saying that it should be ready by now but it turns out that it doesn't appear. >Anyone heard something about it? Not from any other sites. Even if it's true, it shouldn't be believed until a credable site announes it as well. > > > > > >"Schnide" <schnide@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:<COoLd.193$r34.65@newsfe5-gui.ntli.net>... >> Question 1: >> >> Do you think Duke Nukem Forever will ever be released by 3D Realms? >> >> Question 2: >> >> Do you think 3D Realms should license out the Duke Nukem franchise to a >> respectable developer?

Used an automatic translator. I like the "time to kick ass and chew gum... " translation: "is time by all to botch and to chew chewing, but in me ended the chewing of!!!!"; In English: Dyuk returns! This energetic fellow with the good-natured appearance, the "powerful" intellect, a thin feeling of humor and the instincts of real killer, that subjugated of the heart of players 0 0N throughout the world many years ago, again, as its triumphal procession on the screens of our monitors begins in the old good times. This time scene of action becomes Las-Vegas (state of Nevada), where legendary hero arrives in order sequential time to be measured by forces with hateful doctor proton, who plans the new dark matters. As always, battle promises to be long and stressed. It will not manage without the victims, but at the end - can be assured - Dyuk after all will give to prikurit' to dock and sequential time it will save the earth from the vile newcomers. Dukas's dossier somewhat renewed and now in the list its of special "signs" it is possible to find the following: The primary occupation - rescuing of peace from the extraterrestrial monsters; Hobbies - pinbol, fighters; Transport - deliverator; Dear muzykant/gruppa - Henry's group Rollingza (because the soloist has hair-cutting as in Dukas); The dear sport command - Oakland Raiders (only because for them some time it played Howie Long, and it it was similar on Dukas); The dear quotation - "is time by all to botch and to chew chewing, but in me ended the chewing of!!!!"; Furthermore, this time the old times Of dyuk borrowed cursor in one of the entertainment today 3 Unreal Tournament. First, this means that Dyuk at long last will become properly 3D - and in the second place, this means that the drawing will be at the height and the blood from the malicious strangers will begin to pour by river. However, developers did not stop at this - they considerably improved cursor by the application of a skeletal animation. Furthermore, developers borrowed from Unreal and the editor of levels, and this means that after being collected a little patience, any player can try to place Dukas's old times in the blind alley at made by his hands level. SUBJECT as it was already mentioned, the basic conflict of game is twirled around two arkhivragov: Dukas and doctor proton. Doctor proton (enormous cyborg with increase in 2.25m) took 51 zone and converted its former guards in zombi. After using equipment aboard the spacecraft in the same zone, it was connected with the newcomers in the entire galaxy and recruited them to itself into the army. Now it is approached world supremacy and wants to at long last get rid of by the order of those been bored with to it Dukas Nyukema and entire humanity at the same time. Soon the Earth shuddered from the invasion of monsters. They climb from everywhere, bringing with themselves the unprecedented sufferings and destruction. So many people it perished not in one natural calamity, which sometimes struck the earth. The United States of America in panic, entire country is paralyzed. High Command can in no way soak - national army is almost powerless, first the force of its unpracticalness to the wars with the monsters, then whether because of the treachery of its soldiers. In any event cannot be believed to anyone, and For dyuku one must heroically be dismantled with the fatal threat, without resorting to whose- or aid. The accomplishment of this critical objective requires large arsenal; therefore besides the weapon from the previous games, which already became classical, in Duke Nukem Forever were added pistol, fowling-pieces of different modifications, rocket launcher and Mighty Foot (special-purpose foot, which it helps to trample enemies into the chaff). Attention! By the way, besides the classical means of the destruction of the monsters (i.e., those, which have there is a cock) them it will be possible to press by different heavy (and by not very heavy technology), and to shoot with the aid of established on this technology instruments. In the number of enemies at this time will enter resuscitated guards 51 of zones, converted in zombi, Pig- police and sea of loathsome newcomers. And, it goes without saying, for the amateurs to explain, which of Dyukov is steeper, in the game is provided the support of multi-user game both on the network and through the Internet. Special features of the game: Unprecedented interactivity; More than 20 levels; Support of multi-user regime; Control of technology; "living" language, strong words, characteristic for Dukas humor; Memory original music;
