Hey, Garth, you seem like a helpful person. I'm very new to Duke3D,
and am still utterly amazed at the graphics, sounds, etc. After about
three weeks, I am still at level three -- Death Row -- of L.A. Meltdown
and may never get any further. Have discovered the "cheat" posts, but
find it ain't fun when I use them. But for the life of me, can't
figure out how anybody would ever find some of the secrets without 'em.
Am now in the chapel of Death Row and don't know how the heck I would
know to stand in the back and shoot out the symbol over the altar, etc.
Anyway, when I go in the secret cubbyhole at the left of the altar, the
system crashes -- screen goes black covered with white text
CRASH/857307, etc. Same thing happened in level two when I tried to
pick up the Atomic Health in the secret sewer place. Is this common?
Do I need a "patch" or upgrade, or is it part of the game? If you read
this, reply to d...@abmac.com by email 'cause I rarely get to the
discussion group. Thanks much.
