Yes, you can access it with the DNSCOTTY cheat, which proves this point. If you were suppose to play it as a single player level, you wouldn't need to use a cheat code to get to it. So that still leaves only 6 levels for single player mode as I stated in my prior post. The 8th level you mention is not part of the regular game.
