I think there is one more level. There five regular levels: Hollywood
Holocaust [E1L1], Redlight District [E1L2], Death Row [E1L3], Sewage
Treatment [E1L4], and the Abyss [EL5]. There is a sixth one, a secret level
(Launch Pad [E1L6] reached via a green Nuke button inside of the Sewage
Treatment episode.
Then there is Faces of Death [E1L7], which can only be reached by using the
DNSCOTTY107 code or by selecting it at launch. It is an Easter Egg level
that features portraits of the 3Drealms crew inside some water tanks. The
appearance of this level matches theme of Episode Two, Lunar Commando, it
does not match with the Los Angeles theme of L.A. Meltdown.
Then there is the last secret, which is little known to most Duke players.
It is E1L8 and has no title to it. It can only be reached by cheating.
Sometimes the cheat code DNSCOTTY108 will not take you there. It's a more
sure bet to get there by selecting at launch (by holding down the command
key at launch in the Mac version, I do not know how it is done on the PC,
but I know there is a way). Some people say this 8th level does not exist.
This might be because it is only in some versions of Duke and not others, I
do not know. My Mac version is 1.2, which is an exact replica of the Atomic
Edition version 1.5 for PCs (with exception of two Mac only Easter Eggs). It
might be that versions prior to 1.5 lack this level 8.
Level is nothing to write home about. There is nothing cool or exciting
about it. It is just a hexagonal or octagonal room on the Moon, ala Lunar
Commando, with a bunch of powerups, weapons and ammo lying around. There are
no monsters, no hallways, no doors, and no Nuke button. But it is there.
