Are you trying to run Duke 3D off the CD? It should be installed to your hard drive because no CD runs the game as fast as a hard drive. Basically, a boot disk is inserted into the A drive before you start your computer, so you need not make any reference to it since computers read the A drive first. Then, for a DOS game, you need to load DOS as your operating system. After that, you configure your mouse and soundcard. A simple DOS boot disc might have an autoexec.bat like: SET PATH=C:\;C:\DOS SET LMOUSE=C:\MOUSE\MOUSE SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP SET SOUND=C:\SOUNDBLASTER\CTSND SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D0 H5 P300 E620 T6 SET MIDI=SYNTH:1 MAP:E MODE:0 If a game requires access to the CD, you could add something like this: LH C:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10 It is important to realize that your files and drivers are probably in different folders than mine are, so you would have to change the commands accordingly. Also, a boot disk must contain config.sys and command.com files in order to run. I don't think you know enough about DOS to create your own boot disk at this time, but I wanted to give you an example so you could see some of the mistakes you made. I suggest a basic book on MS-DOS to give you a little more background in creating autoexec.bat and config.sys files.
