Recording Doom Game
#384

In an earlier post someone recorded these commands to record a doom game to
a lmp file...

The pertinent commands to do this are:
doom -wart [1-3] [1-9] -skill [1-4] -record [filename]
doom -playdemo [filename]
doom -nodraw -timedemo [filename]

Ex.
  doom -wart 1 1 -skill 4 -record demo1
  doom -playdemo demo1
  doom -nodraw -timedemo demo1
Demo files use a default extension of .lmp. You don't need to include
an extension.

The first command line runs properly as I go directly into doom, but once I
exit no file is created. Am I to end at a certain point in the game? do I
have to save? Is exiting the proper way to record the file?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Rob

You need to add -devparm to this line to make it work.

You need to either finish the level or die for the file to be written -
I *think* this is in the FAQ :)

On a side note: Hank, you are a god. Thanks for compiling that beast :)

 It doesn't work. I've tried

1) completing a level
2) Hitting F7 to end the game
3) dying

And there's no .LMP file to be found anywhere when I use the -record
<filename> option. It's definitely a bug!
