There has been a beta for NeXTStep486 floating around since before the dos version was released. Id is supposedly working on a version for original NeXT (black) hardware for final release also. It's entirely possible that after NeXT is done porting NeXTStep to Sun, Id will release a version for that too :) But who knows.. But for the moment, yep, don't hold your breath for a Sun version of Doom. josh

You should be able to get them by ftp 127.0.0.1.
Do NOT however login as anonymous. 127.0.0.1 is an experimental ftp site
somwhere@someplace.anywhere, I can't remember. You will have to log on as
yourself, and type your own password to access it. And don't worry, the
passwords aren't stored.

This is a wild idea but I wouldn't do this - it would record your password
and with that and your complete address they could log on as you anytime
time pleased and could raise hell with your account.
Don't do it.

After you "ftp" to this "site" (on which your login ID and password are valid--what a coincidence!), you will be right where you started--on your own machine. There's really no more risk of someone capturing your password than any other time you log in. You have been sent to get the prop wash, a left-handed monkey- wrench, muffler bearings, you name it. This is the Internet version. It shows up in most newsgroups with a high proportion of practical jokers. I think this group qualifies. My opinions, not Intel's, Richard
