Thanks for the replies. I changed to the Catalyst 4.7 drivers, and got a
slight frame rate increase. I can run the demo at 29 fps - the problem was
that I needed to go into the console and start the demo immediately after
starting the game. Previously, I was trying the run the demo with a previous
level already loaded - and the system didn't like it.

BTW - I prefer to stick to 1280 * 1024 resolution because that matches my
LCD monitor. Trying to run at a lower resolution simply introduces artefacts
as it scales a low res picture up to match the pixels on the LCD screen.

Next problem - the game runs well for about half an hour or so, and then
slows right down (big pause when you enter a new frame, jerkovision even
thought the reported frame rate stays high etc.). Its easy to fix, I just
need to quit from the game, re-start it and go again for the next half-hour.
Suspect a memory leak, which causes this problem when the program has
snaffled all of the free memory - anyone else come across this, or have a
fix.
