Fighting critters in the dark- don't do it. You can almost always retreat to some-
where with a little ambient light to aim by, and it sure saves ammo (and health)
over the shooting-in-the-dark method.

Use corners to your advantage- for cover, and to draw enemies close to you
so you can give 'em Ol' Betsy's 12-gauge luvin' at smoochin' distance, when they
poke their snoots around the corner. Just duck out of sight behind the corner and
wait patiently till they come around lookin' for it. Get a lot of one-shot kills that
way- and get hit a lot less than slugging it out in the open.

Dunno if headshots take fewer shots to kill a monster, or not- damned critters
all bob, weave, and jump around so much, it's pretty tough to get a headshot
most of the time, other than point-blank with the shotgun. Even zombie's noggins
are usually swayin' around all over while they're shamblin' at ya. So I just shoot
'em in the innards with the bullet weapons, in the easiest spot to hit.

If you can't get a one-shot kill with the shotgun, run for it! Damn thing is too
slow reloading, to stand toe-to-toe and slug it out with anything tough. Distance
is your friend, against the big mean barstids. There's no shame in sprinting down
the corridors screaming like a little girl, till you can find a better place to
make a stand ;-)
