Hey, in DOOM there was large open plains full of powerups!!! How old are you?
I don't think that in Doom3 there should be open plains, but your arguments are wrong.

Yes but the gameplay isn't UP TO DATE...it's years old, that's the point.
Update a game don't means update only the graphics engine...
In fact they update the gameplay but it's just not meet the today standards.
So it's looks like they tried...missing the target,  bit more than another id's
"new engine promotional game"

I don't think you are old enough to remember the first doom.
Same scenerio don't means same repetitive gameplay.
Oh yes you can do it and make a good game with a massive commercial success,
but you don't create a new milestone in game history (as we was hoping).
