Dunno about two 'cheap' cards equaling the performance of one high-end
card, but with PCI-Express replacing the old AGP/PCI buses on new/future
motherboards, all the video card makers are looking at ways to run two or
more video cards on the bus at the same time, to greatly improve game
performance. Haven't heard if these are available yet, but I know they're
in the works.
