I just built this current system (Intel D875PBZ, Prescott system) and plan to use it for about two years before I hand it off to a relative and build a PCI-Express system with two video cards linked up. I think the 8x AGP 6800GT will keep me happy for two or three more years. Maybe I'll do it when Doom4 comes out :) "The Berzerker" <Berzerker@Wooooo.com> wrote in message news:41168051$0$20251$cc9e4d1f@news-text.dial.pipex.com... > "pudj" <paddy@@pudg..karoo..co..uk> wrote in message > news:ru-cnSYR6qFx64vcSa8jmw@karoo.co.uk... > > > > "Bootstrap Bill" <wrcousert@yahoo.com> wrote in message > > news:TuuRc.112385$eM2.104172@attbi_s51... > > > I'm thinking about building a new computer. > > > > > > What would be the minimum configuration for playing Doom 3 with > everything > > > on at the highest resolution? > > > > > > > > > On a related note, back in the days of the voodoo 2, you could use two > of > > > them to nearly double your frame rate.
