Cool group. Hi, all the rest of you people infected (or soon to be infected) with doom insanity! I have a question...has anyone else noticed this? I got and finished the shareware v1.1 and immediately found what I consider to be a real big problem... This ONLY goes for ultra-violence skill level...it's the only way I play! I found that on almost every level, if I save the game prior to actually standing at the exit switch, the level in some way becomes unfinishable. Level 2: The exit elevator becomes unenterable. Sometimes the imp won't move, and sometimes even if it is dead, you just can't get on the elevator. Level 3: The pressure plate on the famous staircase doesn't activate anything. (I haven't written these down, so I'm getting foggy here.) Level 4: The switch across the slime becomes inactive. Level 5 or 6: None of the secret doors function. At any rate, NONE of these things happened when I played the level straight through with no saves and no loads. After I received my registered version in the mail yesterday, it seems this trend continues. I've found that the very first level in the 2nd episode does the same thing. After saving and restoring, a *very* critical transporter simply ceases to function, leaving you stuck. Is this intentional? At first, it really pissed me off. But as I spend time playing, it seems to make a certain kind of sense...if you're playing the hardest skill level, it should be hard. So it's very frustrating, but at the same time, it makes it feel like more of an accomplishment to finish a level. And, if you're looking at this group and haven't tried DOOM (c) out yet, by all means go out and try it!!! Just the $0.02 worth from a confirmed doomaholic...
