You're a living miracle if you could play the game using only doom1_1a.zip
OR only doom1_1b.zip.  Those are the 'split-up' parts of doom1_1.zip. 
which contains *all* the files and is 2213291 bytes in size.

You are mis-informing EVERYONE with your idea about doom's versions, mate.

There ain't no 2nd version of doom1_1.  Hank Leukart said that
DOOM v1.2 is next to be made available.
