Half of the fun of DOOM is : the hilarious sound effects. Why make it adlib music compatible and not : sound? Please, any suggestions, ideas, comments? The reason that there isn't sound fx for the adlib is that all the sound fx in the game are digitized-i.e. they were sampled from an actual sound, not synthesized (sp.). The adlib (to my knowledge) cannot handle digitized sounds; therefore, no sound fx from your board. My suggestion would be (if you _really_ want the full effect of doom) to go out and buy a SoundBlaster family board. The SB16 would be best, but the SBPro is cheaper, and if you're on a tight budget the SB is probably _real_ cheap (if they even make it anymore). Now, I'm not one who goes out and buys new hardware because of one game, but this is different. This is DOOM! :) Hope that clears things up. R.Y.
