Is it possible to play Diablo through Win95's Dial-Up server via IPX ? The reason I ask is I want to run a 2 player game on a ipx based lan. And I would have the ability to allow someone to dial at the same time and join thus making a 3 player game. Any ideas ? -thanks Jimmy James Bass jhb...@servtech.com http://www.servtech.com/public/jhbass WARNING: MY E-MAIL ADDRESS HAS BEEN ALTERED TO PREVENT UNWANTED EMAIL. Any ideas ? I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work. There is no reason they couldn't have included this. Quake never really said how to do this, but it works. I start a modem Quake game. That person dials in. My other two computers can then join via a LAN game, works great. ____________________________________________________________ Arnie Mahns Gresham, Oregon U.S.A ma...@qcsn.com _______________________________________________________________

Its the only recent game I know of that's able to due this. Diablo, as far as I know, only does one at a time. Is it possible to do a Win95 IPX connection through a modem? Never tried something like that since I'm the type of person that'll lug his computer around to friends' houses for ipx or serial play. Network cards are cheap ;) $20

Network cards are cheap ;) $20 Ms Plus has dialup networking server built in. I have connected to a friends 2 computer lan and been able to play hearts, share drives ext. We tried diablo and were able to see the game inprogress but when i tried to join all computers lock. I wish this were possible, maybe it is i just don't know how to configure the computers. If anyone has anyluck with this let me know. Mike

I tried this with win 95, it will not work, possibly because win 95 will not
act as a bridge between two different IPX networks (you are creating two
networks, on that is over the phone line, and the other over your lan
cards) Actually I just had an idea, if you can make sure that the IPX numbers
are the same on both sides, it may work. Somehting like NT Server
(or workstation?) that was the computer that accepted the dialin AND was
hooked local to the network should allow the bridge between the two networks.
