In my opinion, at the moment most people I encounter (99%) prefer co-operative play. You wont go up against a hacked or cheat player, but you may play with one going through the dungeon levels. As a rule I do not accept anything from anyone except gold and only when I ask for it. I have only encountered one player killer since playing Diablo. You can seek out duels, but they are at your request and then you are right you would have no idea of how legitimate the character you are going up against is. aka: Jeramiah(Diablo), DaffyDuck(Quake) Geoff Phillips wrote: I've just bought Diablo, was attracted by the multiplayer aspect, having played Quake & Red Alert over the internet for a while. But I am dismayed to find that it seems the internet gameplay is dogged by "cheating". My question is, is it worthwhile playing Diablo over the net, or am I going to be up against a player who has equipped himself/herself with all sorts of impossible attributes? Surely the game could have been made tamperproof (Quake managed it by having the server do all the "thinking", I'm not sure about Red Alert I think that authenticates the code that's running). Geoff
