It went away when I downloaded and installed the latest SDL.DLL binary for win32 from libsdl.org. I replaced every copy of the DLL I had on my hard drive. I didn't try that initially because compiling d2x seems to require having the SDL source code with its sdl-config script. I kept the SDL source so I can re-compile d2x, but I use the binary distribution of SDL.DLL. I also had the same problem of only being able to run d2x-sdl.exe once before having to reboot. And it crashed a LOT. The new DLL fixed that too. Also I noticed some of the SDL self-tests failed in my environment, but d2x seems to work great. I've produced a few new features I may try to submit as patches... -- Mark Hubbard: markh@dcisite.com Microsoft Certified Professional

Great discovery man: Finally my sounddelay is solved. Just replace the sdl.dll file from the zip file in your d2 directory and the delay is disappeared. http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.5a-win32.zip Again great job. Woohoo, fantastic. Even the opengl version runs fine with sound. Only a bit long and weird opening of the levels. Several messed up desktop parts are seen while loading, but just be patient and do nothing and in a several seconds the good old d2-view is back. It reminds me of my old voodoo 1 card (3dfx) Cool and lots of nostalgic action now is possible in the future. I am looking forward to this. Descent 3 have to be on the background now for a time, hehe.
