Yeah, I was at Fry's yesterday. BUT, those glasses do NOT support head
tracking. I opened one of the boxes and looked through the intruction guide
and the other documentation. I put them back on the shelf when I read it
didn't support head tracking.

True, the basic unit does not have a head tracking mechanism. However,
it is available as an option. The head tracking was decent, except that
there was apparent noise interferance when close to my Pentium (continuous
rolling). The image quality was decent compared to other HMDs I have tried
(although I haven't tried the Cybermax or VFX1).

Yes they do, its an optional add on. But head tracking with Descent
isn't as great as you'd think. Its hard to control and your neck gets
sore. Great gimmik, not too useful with Descent. Some like it, some don't.

Say, have any of you Parallax/Interplay guys had the opportunity to try
the much-hyped SpaceBall Avenger controller? If so, what do you think of
it?

The I-glasses come in two versions - a $599 version intended for watching
TV and other video sources without head tracking, and a $799 version for
the PC that includes the head-tracking module and the VGA->TV signal
converter, as well as many games (incl. Descent shareware).

Obviously you picked up the wrong box.

I played with it a bit when we got it in, and thought it was pretty cool.
I didn't use it enough to really get good at it, but I think that
with practice it could be an awesome controller. It's really easy to
understand, but it's unlike other control devices, so it takes some getting
used to.
