Has anyone else noticed that the robots can shoot in a direction they aren't facing? I was recently wasted by one of those Concussion-Missile hulks on level 6 Ace (S/W v1.1) because of this: I nailed him with my level 4 quad lasers hard enough to spin him 90 degrees, so that he was in front of me facing left; I moved in for the kill (cause I enjoy watching them explode close up) when he fired three missiles that left his launchers _perpendicular_ to the direction they were facing. I knew the little blue bots could do this, but I had no idea that the missile hulks could too. -- Robert Owen bob...@princeton.edu

We allowed them to fire a little different than the direction in which they're facing to make the code simpler and less CPU-intensive. But they're not supposed to do what you've described (though I've seen it happen). I'd like to fix it because, unlike other bugs in the AI, this one doesn't make the robots look dumb -- it makes the programmers look dumb. Mike Kulas Parallax Software

It seems to be able to fire at you no matter what direction its facing or what direction your heading. Ciao, Eug
