1. I would rent a car for a weekend before buying one like it.

2. I always eat first and pay later, unless I happen to go to
   a fast food place.

3. I would get a BBB report and a financial analysis of the
   insurance company, and demand to know who insures them.

4. I buy software I know I like mailorder (or on the occasion
   CompUSA goes insane).

5. I buy games I might not like at Mall stores with "return if you
   do not like it" policies. (Babages, Electronics Boutique)

You do not do the anti-piracy cause any good by being a flaming
idiot.

(#1 only applicable to newer cars, I would test drive and insist on
 maintenance histories and mechanic reports on older vehicles.)
