Ok, reinstalled the OS, and its still got the same repeating crash. I looked in the Multimedia Devices for Duplicates and didnt find any 'identical' but there are similar ones with version differences. Can you remember which ones you deleted at all ? Got a FAQ with something on that somewhere ? Just for interests sake, Quake3 and Unreal both work fine without any updates at all.
