HELP - Matrox G200 / G400 cant get it to work.

Ive got 2 PCs, one with Matrox G200 (16m) and one with G400 (32m).
I have the latest drivers

Graphics Bios 	1.5 - 22
Display		4.11.01.1410
Mini-VDD	4.11.01.1410
Matrox PDesk	5.41.008
DD/D3D		4.11.01.1410
DX		4.07.00.0700 (7a)

GL drivers 	 100114 ,
Descent3 patched to  1.4

On both PCs the game intro stalls with a repeating sound crash over
and over. Ive tried using setup in all configurations and have managed
to see the demo, and play the game once on the G400, but It wont
anymore. If i choose GLsetup in the setup and then try to run the game
i get the best result. Is there a problem with this game or what
detecting GLide. Can someone with similar hardware give me a
commandline perhaps to disable whats causing the crash.
