DEVIL editor won't work with my VESA - help.

I am trying to use the DEVIL editor but every time I run it it stops its
initialization and says it can initialize my graphic display.  I have a VESA
system but I can't find the recommended 'vesa.com' command the docs say I
should try if this happens.  I have a Cirrus Logic SVGA card and none of the
disks it came with looks like a memory resident driver.  Any help would be
greatly appreciated.  L8R...Sean
