I have a rather uncommon problem. I have a Trident VLB video card (admittedly a very low-end card) and a Sound Blaster Pro. There seems to be some sort of conflict between the two. About half the time when I load descent with sound, my screen screws up; I get static, basically. When I run it without sound effects, but with music, the problem is non-existant. I had the same problem with Doom 1.2. ID Software created the Doom 1.666 patch primarily to fix the sound code. Indeed, this fixed my problem; I could play Doom 1.666 with sound effects and my screen would be fine. I've tried everything, except for taking my card in to see if its defective, though I doubt it. I was wondering if a patch was coming out to fix the sound code as ID did with Doom, or if anyone had any suggestions. I realize that I am possibly the only one with this problem. -Ted- tch...@uclink2.berkeley.edu
