You can shoot out the monitors; try it. >Probably the most impressive thing about Descent, however, is the AI. On "Ace" level strategy becomes very important. You can shoot around corners to some extent with lasers, and it behooves you to approach corners sideways. Also I'm careful to rotate the ship now so as to bring the loaded missile side to bear on corners. You can shoot tracers so as to chase the AI into a corner, then scurry over to the opposite approach and nail him. Keep at a distance from doors and out of the line-of-fire, pop a flare to open it and immediately strafe across with your finger on the trigger, as a bot is often right in your face. All of this is just amazing, and makes this easily the best action game I've ever played on a pc, including doom. One complaint: I play full-screen, and for some reason the designers chose to leave the score on-screen -- completely useless during game-play -- but not the all-important shield and energy levels. This was a mistake that should be corrected. On the subject of controllers: I'll be buying one for this game! One poster mentioned the Cyberman: Any other opinions on this device? (Wish I could afford a P90 too; the game is just playable with full detail on my 3dbench=44 system :) ) rms
