ive just purchased command and conquer generals and have been playing it happily for the last couple of days, until mission 7 china. this level seems to suffer terrible slowdowns and even stops for a split second. ive tried all the usual tricks driver updates, dxdiag test, lowest resolution, but nothing seems to work. i shouldnt be having any probs hardware wise. pen4 2.26 radeon pro 9800 512mb ram winxp any thoughts?

Someone with the same problem as me. The same mission, slows down to the point of being unplayable. Any ideas? Anyone?

Another one! From: Gilles Glorieux (gillesglorieux@pandora.be) Subject: Generals: Serious slowdown in China mission 7 View this article only Newsgroups: alt.games.command.and.conquer Date: 2003-04-15 08:31:55 PST I presume it's the final mission, but it's damn near unplayable as the game slows down every 10 seconds. I think it's to do with the number of units on the world map as every once and a while the slowdown disappears as no new units attack. Can this be resolved with a patch? Anybody any tips? Gilles

as i said in the topic above this one this game has a bad net code.. it will lag even on good comps i have a ati mobility radeon 9600 128 mb and 1 gb ram and i run it really well at 1400x1050 even on that china map. even if u have an ok comp dont expect to run every mission in this game ultra fast.

I am having the same problem as well. Having such slowdown like this is asnine. Even DOOM 3 doesn't make my computer lag like this. I know it cannot be my hardware (AMD64 3500+, 1G DDR400, 6800GT). Newest drivers, etc. I am using Windows XP sp2. I think it is always happening but we don't notice it till the action gets heavy, such as on big maps. I am only running at 1024x768 with high detail. But with such hardware, we shouldn't even have a "heavy", the game only reqs. a 800Mhz for christ sake. Anyone have any ideas?
