I am having the same problem as well. Having such slowdown like this is 
asnine. Even DOOM 3 doesn't make my computer lag like this.

I know it cannot be my hardware (AMD64 3500+, 1G DDR400, 6800GT). Newest 
drivers, etc. I am using Windows XP sp2. I think it is always happening 
but we don't notice it till the action gets heavy, such as on big maps.

I am only running at 1024x768 with high detail.

But with such hardware, we shouldn't even have a "heavy", the game only 
reqs. a 800Mhz for christ sake.

Anyone have any ideas?
