Hello Everyone. I play my friend in multi player matches. He is GDI. I am
Nod. His forces are superior to mine. His med tanks are better than my
light tanks. He just sits back and build a small attack force and whips
me. It does not take him long. I build the following...
con yard, power, refinery, air strip, comm center, light, temple. We both
have two harvesters. After this I start building tanks. but it does not
matter. his forces are just better. I dont have time or money to biuild
plenty of stealth tanks to sneak up on him. That would mean sacrificing
money that I need to defend myself with medium tanks. bottomline, i have
to keep building light tanks just to try and stay even with him. I never
get the opp to attack.
Please help...

If this guy only ever attacks you with med.Tanks and he always wins,
then it will be funny when you beat him!
I am no super player, but I have played a few multi-games and never
lost. While he is building Tanks - you build defences, power plants,
obelisks, lots of turrets etc...
You may want to try a few more harvesters while you are playing.....
Or you could try lots of Bazooka guys - just don't let them get run
over, tanks are not too good at bazooka guys.

 Have fun

Have you tried building helicopters, you need about 4 to be effective
his medium tanks have no defence from the air.
If he sends bazooka men pick them off with your helis
make sure you assign your helis to an F key so they dont follow the
targets back to base.
best of luck

The obvious solution is for you to switch allegiance to GDI. That aside, you
might want more defense before you build the Temple. Of course, that may work
until he decides you are too well defended and goes after your harvesters.
So on so forth till both of you change your strategies until you have come
full circle.

Here's part of the problem.

and here's the other half.

Ok, you're getting your butt kicked trying to defend yourself. Perhaps
there's another option ?

: to keep building light tanks just to try and stay even with him. I never
: get the opp to attack.
: Please help...

Ok, first, if you sit back you're just giving your enemy time to pursue
his own plan. Any sort of harrassing attack (even with a few flame troops)
is better than letting him just sit there.

Second, it might not be wise to build the comm center, obelisk, and
temple so quickly. GDI can start building medium tanks with a weapons
center. If he stops there you are spending an extra 5000+ credits in
buildings while he is producing tanks.

You should:

1) Build a bike/buggy ASAP and attempt to find and scout his base.
2) Try to prevent him from scouting your base. Build enough defenses/infantry
to stop probes by hummers and/or APC's.
3) Begin harrasing attacks as soon as you've scouted his base. Try to keep
him off balance without wasting large amounts of money. This may divert
money from his tank production.
4) Send another bike/buggy to explore the rest of the board looking for
crates.
5) Go after his harvesters.

Build 4 bikes and go hunting harvesters. This will get his attention very
quickly. It WILL force him off his game plan as GDI cannot defend harvesters
against bike attacks with medium tanks. Plus, if you succeed in destroying
his harvester he cannot produce the tanks in the first place.

For best effect, time the harvester attacks with a second mobile assault
unit consisting of a half dozen bikes or stealth tanks. Have this group wait
near his base but out of sight (hopefully). When he goes to defend his
harvester (he will), send the second team after his construction yard.
He'll be stuck having to choose between defending his harvester or his
CY. He'll defend the CY leaving you to toast the harvester.

This should be doable as you can build the bikes quicker than he can build
tanks. Just make sure you don't let the harvester overrun your bikes.

He's probably getting complacent. Go at him hard and force him off his game
plan. Shake him up and you've got it won.

Good luck,
/bruce

You do need help!

Instead of building an airdstrip build a second refinery, money is the key
to success, you'll have twice the money coming in. Then build your Comms
centre so you have a map and can see the enemy approach. Next build a
finger of Nod for your defense. Place it near your construction yard and
refineries if pos. Two or three flame guys scattered sroud your base to
pick off the engineers from the spilt APC's is all you need for defense
early on. Next build your Airstrip and then a 2-3 light tanks, 2
harvesters, its good to have a ratio 2:1 or 3:1 if your harvesting a long
way away for harvesters v refineries. You'll now have money rolling in to
build up a MASSIVE attack force of both biker gangs 5-6 in each and light
tanks.

Any more help or suggestions needed, just give me a shout.

Jeez that is a losing strategy. If you are building bikes at the
first opportunity, YOU will be the one circling HIS base. He should
never, ever, be approaching your base with medium tanks -- and if he
does, you should always have enough bikes to erase them. If you are
setting up to defend agains medium tanks, you are setting up to lose.
If you are NOD you must make the battle take place on his end, not
yours.

That script sucks. Try a proven winner:
1.power
2.refinery
3.refinery
4.airstrip -- now start pumping out bikes and don't stop
5. hand or radar, your choice
6.power
7.hand or radar
8.refinery
**By this point you should be assembling a forceful bike gang to take
out a harvester. Supplement it with buggies for infantry.

 Use it and win.

Well, light tanks actually kind of suck donkey rocks, which you seem to
have found out the right way. You should try your hand with NOD Recon
Bikes, they are very efective anti-vehicle units. Their problem is that
they are very lightly armored, so you should use them in packs to minimize
the time you have the bikes exposed to return fire.

True, GDI does have superior weaponary at the basic start levels, but
once the base gets fully built NOD can overpower them. If your friend
attacks you with med. tanks, than your best defense to it is by placing
gun turrents in stategic locations. Gun turrents are cheaper to repair
than buying tons of light tanks. When those are built up, ob. light
should be next and should be placed behind turrents. Your initial stategy
in being NOD is to set up a defense with mostly stationary guns and
walling in the base, so he has to come to the guns. Mammoth tanks can be
beaten easily by ob. light or 4 flame tanks. When you build up enough
force of stealth tanks and flame tanks(efficient against towers, adv.
towers and men), be sure you unleash a nuclear attack to stun him.

Yeah, depending on the target, 12-15 should do the job... Make sure you
have a repair bay to repair the damage afterward so you can use them all
again later.. If the target is infantry, though, you will want to have a
couple of flame tanks handy. I have killed large numbers of infantry with
a single flame tank (I think my best was about 40)
