Maybe he's talking about the building hotkeys? As in, select a worker and press
"b" to build a barracks, or "p" for powerplant. Or select a barracks and press
"r" for rebel or whatever?

To find those out just hover your mouse over the icon of the building or unit
you want to build. The hotkey will be the letter of the unit/building 's name
that is in another colour.
