strategies vary to the player and of course the one you chose may work against one opponent's strategy but not another...the main issue is money and management...three refineries and two weapons factories speed the amassing of tanks.... the key to tank rushes is use GDI medium tanks in strength against one weak point...concentrated fire power, running over troops, the only defense is a tank rush of their own (but in some maps their harveters get caught up in these and destoyed)...but the small points count, such as don;t move mass armour over long distances since they tend to get in each other's way and string out...and of course while he is busy defending and losing units, you still build a second wave to follow up on the first.... one other key to tanks is the map itself...open maps lend to massive tank movements, hard for a defender to cover all points of attack...other maps have bottlenecks where an attacker is limited his approaches...but this can be used to your advantage is you bottle him in, and destroy his harveters when they come out...or his units as they come out to fight one by one thru the bottle neck... so again there is no one formula, no one solution (and if there was, the game would not be playable) i prefer orcas, but again I have often won the battle but lost the war..i take out his construction yard and half his base, but have no real defenses to ward off an attack of his tanks and base units...(having spent all my money on expensive orcas)....the only time i saw orcas work was when he scouted my base and attacked with six orcas right away (as in i build one war factory and a refinery, next thing i know there are six orcas over head....never got to see his base to tell what happened... so what is the best strategy...for me it is: 1)know the map and style your play to it 2)scout the enemy early so you can see their strategy and be sure you can neutralize it 3)mix of units...i favor medium tanks to defend, but at least 6 orcas to bring the fight to them ...engineers in apv's or helicopters...APV's to run over troops or shoot at individual troopers... 4)two to three refineries and two war factories to build more harvesters if needed 5)i also keep a list of who i play, what they did, and their ranking...again scout your enemy 6)try to out general them thru attention to detail rather than conentrating on one strategy i also used to build an ion cannon to use jointly with my orcas, but too often i was overwhelmed before i could build up...you can afford three orcas for the price of an advanced comm center and the power plants to power it, and get them faster too you can try only tank rushes, and i've seen some who sell their construction yard to afford 4 more tanks when money gets low...but be prepared to lose a percentage of your game to people who find an edge...oh, and kill the crates since you won;t want to spend the time looking for them... -- Fight Win Prevail But Never Cheat The Weatherley's <gla...@es.co.nz> wrote in article <36B615EF...@es.co.nz>... > What is the *best* strategy for c&c internet ie how should I start, > what should I build and in what order.
