Here's an easy crack, copy all the files from the cd\to the hard drive. 
 Get a hex editor.  Then change the GENERAL.MIX file's name to GENE.MIX. 
 Then, use the hex editor, and look (use find command) in the GAME.DAT 
file for 2 orrurances of "general.mix", and change them to, "gene.mix". 
 You must use hex editor for this.  It works, I'm doing it everyday and 
never had a problem.  I have the cds, but this makes the game much 
faster.
