The monster tanks aren't coming as fast as before, the next minute, two waves of five orcas heading for, you guessed it, the CY. Not fun, but if you can beat 'em to the punch it's damned annoying. The best solution is to either a) outlaw the tactic (kind of cheap) or waste his base while he's stockpiling orcas (since a legion of them can cost rather a lot). Also, if he can't see your CY he can't target it. Keep up a perimiter defense, which should be fairly straightforward considering GDI has no invisible units. > 6 Orcas ! Whew.. they're a tough cookie all right. It's scary the first time, annoying the second, third, fourth... > I surrounded my CY with SAMs ( 3 squares away at least and > all round ) This allowed my SAMs to get 1st crack at the Orcas > before they shot off a missile. SAM sites are jack useless. In the games I've played, the bazookas are nearly three times as effective for the dollar. They shoot faster, target quicker, and you can move them around to defend different targets. They don't suck up power either. > [Layout] > Total cost : $750 * 8 + $300 * 8 = $8,400 > > Very expensive, as you can see. If he never attacks, you've wasted your money on SAMs and bazookas, unless you're good with personnel. > Anyone has better ideas defending against Orcas ? Switch to GDI and use their superior Advanced Guard Towers. Those are real Orca killing machines. If you know what they're up to, march in with a pile of stealth tanks and toast the grounded Orcas. They might not even see it coming, though they can probably guess from the "stealth" noises... Nuke the Orcas if panic sets in. They'll be pretty flimsy after that. Take over the orcas with a few APCs brimming with engineers. Or, if you're feeling brave, make a recon bike for every Orca. I find that one on one they are fairly equal. If you outnumber the Orcas, you stand a good chance of wiping them out before they toast the base. There's always a way...
