<Preservation of actual working hardware may be difficult, but I am

There's already a UNIX emulator of the Apple II. Cool huh?

Uh.. There's a wanna-be Unix system (not emulator) for the Apple II.
And it leaves some to be desired -- it was a good try, though.
(Written in compiled Basic w/ some Asm modem routines, etc)

(I set it up once. Pretty slow, and is the exact opposite of Prodos,
so how *could* it work..)

I think he means that there is a program that emulates an Apple II
that runs under Unix. I have seen it. More proof that idle hands do
the devil's work :^>.

I've got an apple II emulator that runs on a PC in DOS.

Are you adding to the message, or are you CONTRADICTING him?

This Unix-based Apple II emulator (note that I don't mean
"Apple II-based unix emulator") - where can it be found? Can it do
graphics (yeah, RIGHT), so I could play "Rescue Raiders" on my Xenix/286
system? :-)

Uh, I think you got that backward. I believe that the original poster meant
that there is a program that runs under UNIX that emulates an Apple ][. Not
a UNIX that runs on an Apple. (*That* would be a cute trick: "See. all you
need is this little extra hardware card. What's on it? Well, just a 68020,
a couple meg of ram.....)
