I have 4 Quantum ELS &/or S as factory fitted to Macintosh, 120 & 240 Mb, running 24x7 for over 4 years now. Actually I did replace one about 3 months ago, simply because I thought it started to sound a bit noisy. The replacement? Another of the same, swapped it with one from a 8x5 desktop machine, both still OK. -- Peter Kerr bodger School of Music chandler University of Auckland NZ neo-Luddite
