Over the last 18 months, I've purchased about a dozen or so items through
OnSale, either from OnSale itself, or a vendor they represent. With the
exception of CRA Systems of Waco, Texas, I've been happy with every
purchase. (The 17" monitor I bought from CRA arrived DOA, as did the
replacement, and _I_ had to pay for the shipping of these 60 pound
packages back to Waco. Not fun. They made _some_ restitution, but it was
no fun, and I was without a monitor for a few days.) For the most part,
every item was a savings over retail. Memory was especially cheap; I paid
$65 for a pair of 8-Meg DIMMs for a Macintosh when the normal price was
about $50 for one. I just bought a new hard drive for about 15% less than
retail and it arrived in two business days. They give you an email
"invoice" that even includes the carrier's tracking number. I say if you
would normally buy it mail order and have it shipped to you, place a bid.
I'm just not buying anything over 20 lbs. again. And nothing, EVER, from
CRA. One guy's opinion, your mileage may vary.
