It's much harder to fight when it is a mandated policy from the top, which was common in government circles the one time I dipped my toes in there. Fortunately we had high powered support in the shape of a potential board member looking to make his mark and a very unusual consultant whose expertise was in manipulating bureaucracies - he knew things like the holiday schedules of everyone that mattered, who to get drunk at lunchtime so that a sign-off would come that afternoon - who *not* to get drunk at lunchtime and so forth. When the guy in charge of procurement said that we would have X-Terminals only over his dead body, we got them the next day - and Joe sent a memo querying the lack of a dead body. -- Steve O'Hara-Smith | Directable Mirror Arrays C:\>WIN | A better way to focus the sun The computer obeys and wins. | licences available see You lose and Bill collects. | http://www.sohara.org/
