Some people still seem to be labo(u)ring under the delusion that the primary responsibility of an HR department is staffing. No, they are there to ensure that the company does not get sued. As one might suspect, this mandate all too often leads to conflicts with hiring managers who are tasked with ensuring that work gets done. -- Dave
