At the time, our system came with up to 4 diskette drives (this was pre-
hard disk days for desktop systems - mid 70's). Anyway, the customer was
supposed to boot from another diskette, put the bad one in drive b, and
do a straight copy to drive c. (We had a special DOS utility that would
simply copy one diskette to another, without verification of any kind.)

The tech support guy's mistake was in assuming that the customer had RTFM!
