artist etc. w kontekście produkcji cyfrowych (chociaż może nie tylko) filmów

After the story department has completed storyboards and added them to the
reel, layout artists are responsible for positioning or animating the 3D
camera to compose shots. Layout artists are the first in the pipeline to
actually create a 3D scene for each shot in the movie. Using storyboards or
story reels as a guide, they work in close consultation with the director to
frame each shot. Sometimes a layout artist will make several different
versions of a camera move so that the director can pick the best way to
cover a scene. After the modeling department has built sets and character
models, layout artists also load the necessary models into the shot, and put
them into position.

Sometimes a layout artist will roughly animate a character, at least
translating the character from one place to another if that motion is an
important part of the shot. Even though the temporary motion they add will
be replaced with full character animation by an animator, the composition
and animated camera moves made by a layout artist will be a part of the
final film. Sometimes a layout artist will also adjust the depth of field
(DOF) for all of the shots in a sequence, to ensure that this aspect of the
camera work is done consistently.
