Poradziłem sobie :)
Jak ktoś ma XFree 4.3.99.12-1 z PLD Nest trzeba to mniej więcej
tak skonfigurować:

> W /etc/sysconfig/mouse mam:

> Device=/dev/psaux
> MOUSETYPE=imps2
> REPEATER=yes

To zostaje, ale trzeba *koniecznie* zrobić jeszcze coś takiego:
W /etc/rc.d/init.d/gpm w okolicach 52 linii jest:
#v+
    if [ -n "$REPEATER" ] && [ "$REPEATER" != "no" ]; then
                            OPTIONS="$OPTIONS -R"
    fi
#v-
Zmieniłem OPTIONS="$OPTIONS -R" na OPTIONS="$OPTIONS -Rraw"
Zrestartowałem gpm i mysz działa na terminalu tekstowym.

W X mam ustawione:
#v+
Option "Protocol"   "ImPS/2"
Option "Device"     "/dev/gpmdata"
Option "Buttons" "3"
Option "ZAxisMapping"   "4 5"
#v-

I mysz z rolkami chodzi w X i jednocześnie w terminalu tekstowym.
