connection to internet

My company is interested in establishing connections for its users on LANs
located in 6 cities in the U.S. to the Internet.

We are going to connect these sites using Frame Relay and a combination of 56kb
and T1 lines to the locations.

We have a total of 7 IP Class C addresses which have been assigned to insure
we can use the Internet.

There is a Novell network in each of these locations consisting of v3.11,
v3.12, and v4.1. A couple of the sites have v3.12 and v4.1 servers.

I am interested in learning the following:

1) What do we use to enable the users (IPX/SPX) to communicate via the
IP address assigned to each site to communicate over the Internet? In
otherwords, how do I make this connection to the Internet usable by each
user attached to the NetWare networks.

2) How do we connect outside users so they may use Internet services?

3) How do we protect our Novell servers from unauthorized access?

I would appreciate any "case studies" from those who have already done this
and would be willing to share techniques and problems, and how those problems
were solved.

Thank You

Sam

Seems while it is possible to connect NetWare server to Internet, it is
still no program which would help use the connection for communication
between workstation and the Internet; it is possible access server only
from Internet. If you want to access Internet, use program named IPXPKT
(PD, available on Simtel) - its documentation says everything you need.

You can run Internet (FTP,SMTP,FINGER) servers on NetWare server.

>3) How do we protect our Novell servers from unauthorized access?

FTP server has same protection as user accounts.

To question 1 & 2: Novell Lanworkplace (Version 5.0) and Lanworkgroups
seems to be a good solution. To question 3: I don't think anybody will
know an answer to that....

BZZZZZZ !

wrong answer... nobody will access your Novell servers from outsida via
Internet.
Novell uses ipx/spx protocol and Internet provides tcp/ip which are
totally different. Of course you can emulate tcp/ip on ipx/spx but not
otherwise.

wrong answer Mr Administrator Systemu (vel Anonim). Vide: NetWare
TCP/IP.

There is also possibility to emulate IPX/SPX on IP, it is called
tunneling. Allows NetWare servers to be connected via IP network
in a way they work as they all were in local net (except speed).
