Oh, my. Bad people from Waltham assaulted your server room and changed
file times? I'd call the police at once.

I suggest you add more exclamation marks. It'll definitely help.
After that, check your server's time zone.

OK, now you only gotta learn to quote properly and don't leave space
before punctuation marks.

>because it change time in date correctly .

First of all - think a bit. Isn't it kinda weird that system would
bother to find all the files on disk and change timestamps on them?
Wouldn't that be a horrible waste of resources to do such thing?
Doesn't it occur to you that probably the time is the same but is just
presented differently because of the difference in DST?
And I still don't understand what do you mean by 'change time in date'?
You mean that in your time zone there was a DST change and the time
adjusted properly? Did it occur at the same time that the DST changed in
Europe?

i make an example :

friday a have a file with this attributes :

  01/01/2004 17.17 1.021 test.txt
a see this file with windows on mapped novell drive.

in sunday night the time in europe is changed in DST ,
the computers change the time.
if a see the same file in the same place the time is changed :

  01/01/2004 16.17 1.021 test.txt

why the time is changed ? in file properties

novell server time is changed correctly, i think .
in windows the time is correct , but all files i see
with the time changed in 1 hour .

this problem make me a lot of problems
backup system copy all files , because their time is changed!

I hope that u understand me.

Will you learn to quote properly?

epsilon$ while read LINE; do echo \>"$LINE"; done < "FeFy"

But you see what? Where? Windows says so?

That's why I told you to check the time zone on server.

Are you completely sure it changed? Are you sure it didn't just change
the way of presenting the time? Especially that we're talking about
windows workstation, and windows is known to have problems handling
different timeznes at the same time.

>novell server time is changed correctly, i think .

You think? Or you are sure about it?

What backup system do you have?
I find it hard to believe. All backup systems known to me are acting
based on archive attribute or by checking whether modification time is
not newer than last backup time. Not by comparing modification time to
last known modification time. That's ridiculous.

excuse me for my english, it's bad and
u don't understand my words.
thank you very much for your spent time .

Vedo i file di un server novell attraverso un
gateway in windows. che io veda i file in ambiente
windows dos o linux hanno una certa data e una ora.
(la data e l'ora che si vedono facendo il dir di un file)
dopo la variazione dall'ora legale all'ora solare,
in tutti i file risulta cambiata l'ora , e hanno la
differenza di un'ora.
premesso che sia le macchine windows che novell hanno
l'ora di sistema esatta.
Grazie per l'aiuto e scusa se non riesco a farmi capire.

Ciao Stefano
