I would appreciate any help that anyone can provide with this problem. For the last 2-3 months, after a little HD hiccup, any shortcuts that I put on my desktop AND ANY icons in any folders, with the exception of Control Panel and a couple of other system related folders, are displayed as shown in the attached JPG file. I've tried re-installing Windows 95 several times. I've used tweakui's "rebuild icons" selection without success. The group of icons that are "stacked" over the real icon appear to come out of SHELL32.DLL which is in my \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory. I tried deleting the file and re-installing Win95. That didn't work either. The icons are messed up for whichever display I choose; large icons, small icons, list or detail. The icons on my Start button are ok as are any on the taskbar or the tray.
