Hi I can see that on x86_64 architechture the PAGE_OFFSET is: 0xffff880000000000 while many today's x86_64 CPUs have got 2^48 virtual address space which is smaller than PAGE_OFFSET. How is that. I thought that PAGE_OFFSET must have always been smaller than available virtual address space. thanks for answer

Przetlumacze na wszelki wypadek: Widze ze PAGE_OFFSET dla x86_64 w linuxie ma wartosc: 0xffff880000000000 Wiekszosc dzisiejszych processorow 64-bitowych x86 ma wielkosc virtualnej przestrzeni adresowej 2^48 co jest mniejsze niz PAGE_OFFSET. Jak to jest ze to dziala. Jak na moje to nie moze dzialac, ale pewnie sie myle :-) dzieki za odpowiedz
